Also, would have a lot more room in a 26L GR1 but mine is the 21L. Also in Sweden so in a couple months it will be GR2 only for me, since I can't really fit much more in my GR1 once I stuff a good jacket in there. Now, I use the GR1 most of the time but again, I am 6' tall and wear a size 47 EU/12 US shoe so that changes things a bit. I had no problem using my 40L GR2 every day, coming from a 34L TNF bag. I used my 40L GR2 every day for two months until I "drunk purchased" my GR1 on an amazing sale. With the GR2, I could probably stuff the front compartment with everything I got, and put any loose items inside the main compartment. I went to get some groceries today on a walk and had to be choosy and as it was stuffed my GR1 full. I feel like with the size (which is nearly the same as the 26L GR1, but just deeper) combined with the dual compartments and multiple zipper pockets, it will be much more useful and become the bag I use all the time. I love my 40L GR2 but intend to get a 34L as soon as I can. On a trip I took recently, I switched to my 40L GR2 and just filled it partially because I did not have enough space in my GR1 for the shoes, ankle brace, laptop, charging stuff, tablet, and jacket. In my 21L, one pair of my shoes pretty much fills the open spot, with my mounted GR1 Field Pocket, and I can stuff a few more things in there.

Someone mentioned 3x pair of shoes in a GR1, well I guess that depends on a lot of things. Totally depends on what you need and are comfortable with, but if planning to stick with just one, I would go for the 34L GR2. My rucker was constantly crammed with shit I didnt need day to day, and while I could easily one-bag with the rucker for travel, I didnt like having to haul a jammed out rucker everywhere as Im touring a new town (especially since I mostly used it for out-of-town rugby games so I was already packing not very versatile stuff ) Rucker became my dedicated rucking ruck, and I now EDC the bullet and pack the kit bag for travel. I snagged a bullet and a kit bag (both in Steel. So says the old packing law: "Despite your best intentions, no matter the size of your bag, the shit you pack in it will expand in volume to fill the bag throughly".

So my whole problem with the GR1 was that it's big enough to carry my entire life in which is wonderful but you end up carrying shit you just don't need to be and next thing you know, a bag that is heavy on its own becomes heavier.
